Red Giant Effects — Making a Little Digital Chaos

Fire, smoke, water, particles, and a little controlled digital chaos.

Sometimes the best part of motion graphics is getting to make things explode, melt, burn, flow, or fall apart—all without making a mess in the real world.

I’ve worked with Red Giant effects and particle systems to create everything from fire and smoke to water effects, melting objects, and other dynamic simulations. Whether I’m trying to make something look realistic or creating a more stylized effect, I enjoy experimenting with the different ways particles, physics, and animation can bring a scene to life.

My experience includes creating and controlling particle effects, adjusting movement and behavior, working with materials and lighting, and combining multiple effects to create more complex visuals.

Coming from a background in After Effects, Cinema 4D, Blender, and visual effects compositing, I’m comfortable integrating these elements into larger productions. Sometimes that means adding atmosphere or subtle details to a scene, while other times it means creating something much more dramatic.

What I enjoy most is the combination of technical problem-solving and creative experimentation. Simulations don’t always behave exactly how you expect, and sometimes the unexpected results lead to something even more interesting.

For me, particle effects and simulations are another way to bring imagination into motion—whether that’s creating a realistic environment or making something completely impossible look surprisingly believable.

And honestly, who doesn’t enjoy setting something on fire when there’s an Undo button?
